ORDER

The petitioner has approached this Court that his representation, dated 05.06.2025, seeking permission and police protection for conducting Mulaipari Utsava Festival scheduled on 13.06.2025 and 14.06.2025 at Arulmigu Sri Selva Varasithi Vinayagar Temple, Arulmigu Soneya Swamy Temple and Arulmigu Muthumari Amman Temple situated in Datchinamoorthy Nagar, Angadi Mangalam, Madurai District has not been considered by the respondents. 2/5

2.Mr.E.Antony Sahaya Prabahar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor takes notice for the official respondents and submits that there are several communities and each community is having some issues and therefore, they are anticipating law and order problem and hence, they have not permitted any group to conduct "Mulaipari". 3.The petitioner, who is devotee, is intended to conduct Mulaipari as part of their worship. In the event, if anyone is opposing the same, it is the duty of the officials to find out whether they are having sufficient reasons to oppose it and to take appropriate action against the persons, who is opposing the petitioner from conducting "Mulaippari". If the subject temple is a public temple, then, everybody is having a right to worship in the temple. Taking Mulaipari is also one of modes of worship. Therefore, the official respondents is directed to ensure that every citizen is having right to worship in the temple. If anybody is taking the law into their hands, action has to be taken against such persons, who are opposing the petitioner from offering his 3/5

prayer and not as against the petitioner.

4.With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
