ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for a Mandamus to direct the first respondent to issue the passport based on the petitioner's application in file No.TR1067516447925, dated 26.03.2025.

2. The petitioner applied for a passport on 26.03.2025 before the first respondent. However, the petitioner was involved in a crime and he has been arrayed as Accused No.2 in Crime No.283 of 2020, dated 28.08.2020 on the file of the second respondent. The case is still under investigation and no charge sheet has been filed so far. It also appears that the petitioner was a minor at the time of the alleged offence.

3. Considering the fact that no charge sheet has been filed so far, there shall be a direction to the first respondent to process the petitioner's passport 2/4

application. However, it is made clear that before the petitioner travels abroad, the petitioner's passport application shall be processed and handed over the passport to the concerned police station. The petitioner shall be at liberty to claim the passport, subject to obtaining appropriate orders from the concerned Magistrate Court, before which the case will eventually be transferred.

4. The writ petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
