ORDER
The petitioner, with a grievance that the respondent Police is harassing him under the guise of enquiry, has filed this Criminal Original Petition.
2. Mr.P.Kottaichamy, learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) takes notice and submits that the 3rd respondent has lodged a complaint as against the petitioner that he received some money and thereafter, he cheated him. The said complaint has been treated as petition enquiry in CSR No.485 of 2025 on 11.06.2025 and the enquiry is still pending. Till date, the respondent Police has not taken any decision as to whether the complaint is true or not.
3. Considering the fact that a complaint of cheating has been lodged as against the petitioner, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with a direction to the petitioner to appear before the respondent Police and co-operate for enquiry which is pending on the file of the respondent Police in CSR No.485 of 2025. The respondent Police 2/4
is directed to conclude the enquiry within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. During that time, the respondent police shall not harass and arrest the petitioner. In the event, if any cognizable offence is made out in the complaint, the respondent Police is at liberty to register a case.
