O R D E R

This Writ petition has been filed by the petitioner for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 and 2 to consider the petitioner's representations dated 21.12.2015, 31.05.2016 and 23.02.2017 to promote the petitioner for the post of B.T. Assistant (English) with due seniority and confer all the consequential benefits.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.

3. Mr.J.Gunaseelan Muthaiah, learned Government Advocate, takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the Writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

4. Considering the limited scope of the request of the learned counsel for the Writ petitioner, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Court is inclined to issue the following direction:- "The respondents are directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 23.02.2017, and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after giving opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order."
