COMMON PRAYER: Petitions are filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent ie., the Principal Secretary to Government, Higher Education (B1) Department, Chennai, to pass appropriate orders on the petitioners' representation dated 11.08.2018, 11.08.2018 and 13.08.2018 respectively regarding their regular promotion, as Principal, on par with 30 persons, who were included in the same list along with the petitioners and are already promoted, within a specified time frame that may be fixed by this Court. For Petitioners : Mr.S.Visvalingam (in all WPs) For Respondents : Mr.M.Pandiarajan (in all WPs) Addl.Govt.Pleader COMMON ORDER The petitioners have come forward with the present Writ Petitions for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent ie., the Principal Secretary to Government, Higher Education (B1) Department, Chennai, to pass appropriate orders on https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

the petitioners' representations, dated 11.08.2018, 11.08.2018 and 13.08.2018 respectively, regarding their regular promotion, as Principal, on par with 30 persons, who were included in the same list along with the petitioners and are already promoted.

2. Mr.M.Pandiarajan, the learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that it would suffice if the representation of the petitioners, dated 11.08.2018, 11.08.2018 and 13.08.2018 respectively, is disposed of in accordance with law, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

4.In view of the limited scope of the prayer, without going into the merits of the matter, the Authority concerned is directed to consider the representation of the petitioners, dated 11.08.2018, 11.08.2018 and 13.08.2018 respectively, in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioners, pass appropriate orders within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, if there are no legal impediments. However, the promoted candidates shall not be disturbed, as the petitioners have not made them as party to the present proceedings.

5.With the above direction, the Writ Petitions stand disposed of. No costs.
