ORDER

The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking to quash the order passed by the second respondent herein on 14.05.2026, wherein, the request of the petitioner for conducting Adal Padal programme on 21.05.2026 has been rejected on the sole ground that law and order problem is likely to arise.

2. A careful perusal of the impugned order reveals that it has been passed on the presumption that law and order problem is likely to arise and no concrete material has been placed in the impugned order.

3. In view of the abovesaid facts, the order impugned in the Writ Petition is set aside and the second respondent is directed to grant permission and provide police protection for conducting the aforesaid festival to the petitioner on 21.05.2026 between 6.00 PM and 10.00 PM. It is made clear that the function shall be completed before 10.00 PM on the said date. It is also made clear that the police authorities are entitled to interfere and stop the function, if any obscene dances are performed.

4. With the above observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
