This Writ petition has been filed by the petitioner for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd respondent to select for the post of Cook based on the interview dated 10.03.2017 on the basis of his employment seniority, qualification and experience as per his representation, dated 14.03.2017.
2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.
3. Mr.C.Selvaraj, learned Special Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the Writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

4. Though the Writ petition is for issuing a positive direction, the learned counsel for the petitioner submit that the
petitioner will be satisfied if a direction is issued to the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 14.03.2017.
5. Considering the limited scope of the prayer in the Writ petition, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Court is inclined to issue the following direction:- "The second respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 14.03.2017, and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order."
