..Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the third respondent to grant permission and adequate police protection to perform "Thai Pongal Vilaiyattu Vizha" programme to be held on 13.01.2017 to 16.01.2017 in connection with the Tamil Month of Thai Pongal Festival and also 126th Birthday of Bharatharathna Dr.B.R.Ambedkar in the place of Thiyagi Immanuvel Sekaran Sports Ground, Sangam Office, Gandhi Nagar, Sankarankovil, Tirunelveli District on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 27.12.2016. For Petitioner : Mr.S.T.Sasidharan Tamilkani For Respondents : Mr.D.Muruganandam, Additional Government Pleader.

ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by A.SELVAM, J.] This writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to direct the respondents to give necessary permission for conducting the functions mentioned in the petition, by way of issuing a writ of mandamus. 2.It is averred in the petition that in Gandhi Nagar, Sankarankovil, on 13.01.2017 to 16.01.2017 various festivals are going to be celebrated. Under the said circumstances, a representation has been given on 27.12.2016. But the same has not been considered and therefore the present writ petition has been filed for getting the relief sought therein.

3.Mr.D.Muruganandam, learned Additional Government Pleader, has taken notice for the respondents.

4.Considering the fact that already a representation has been given on 27.12.2016 and the same has not been considered, the following order can be passed.

5.In fine, this writ petition is allowed in part without costs and the third respondent viz., Inspector of Police, Sankarankovil Town Police Station is directed to look into the representation dated 27.12.2016 and dispose of the same within a period of two days.
