ORDER
The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking to quash the order passed by the second respondent herein dated 16.05.2026, wherein, the request of the petitioner for conducting Adal Padal programme on 24.05.2026 and 25.05.2026 has been rejected without assigning any reasons.
2. A perusal of the impugned order does not reveal any reason for rejecting the request for conducting Adal Padal programme.
3. In view of the abovesaid facts, the order impugned in the Writ Petition is set aside. There shall be a direction to the second respondent Police to grant permission and provide police protection to Adal Padal programme to be conducted on 24.05.2026 and 25.05.2026 in connection with "Pongal Vizha" of Arulmigu Sri Angala Parameswari, Vadakathiamman, Vinayagar Kovil, Nallathambi Kovil, Sankaramoorthipatti, Alangulam Taluk, Virudhunagar District. It is made clear that the function shall be completed before 10.00 PM 2/4
on the said dates. The petitioner is directed to strictly comply with the Circular issued by the Director General of Police, Tamil Nadu in Rc.007301/Genl.I(1)/2019 dated 09.04.2019.
4. With the above observations, this Writ Petition stands allowed to the extent as stated above. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
