PRAYER :- For Bail in Crime No.446 of 2020 on the file of the Respondent Police.
ORDER : The Court made the following order :- Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate(Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent.
2. The petitioner was arrested and remanded to Judicial Custody on 10.10.2020 for the offences punishable under sections 147, 148, 294(b), 323, 324 and 307 of I.P.C., r/w Section 4 of Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 1998, in Crime No.446 of 2020 on the file of the respondent police. He seeks bail.
3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) made a submission that A4 is still absconding. Investigations are at the initial stage. The case registered under Section 307 of IPC is now converted to Section 302 of IPC as the person injured died in the hospital. It is further stated that the petitioner was arrested only on 10.10.2020.

4.This being the factum, it is not appropriate to grant bail at this juncture and the respondent police is directed to intensify the investigation and arrest the absconding accused as expeditiously as possible and proceed with the case. However, grant of bail is not preferable at this point of time. Therefore, the petition stands dismissed.
