ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by N.SATHISH KUMAR, J.) The petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition seeking a direction to respondents 1 and 3 to realign the high-tension electricity line proposed for the fifth respondent's textile industry situated at Door No. 4/128A, Ganapathi Sundara Nachiyarpuram, Rajapalayam Taluk, 2/6
Virudhunagar District, so that it does not pass through the residential and agricultural areas of Ganapathi Sundara Nachiyarpuram Village, by considering the petitioner's objection dated 13.11.2025.
2. The main grievance of the petitioner is that the high-tension electricity lines passing over, and in close proximity to, residential areas give rise to serious concerns relating to safety, health, and the use and enjoyment of property. In this regard, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 13.11.2025 to respondents 1 and 3. Since no action has been taken on the said representation, the present Writ Petition has been filed.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the fifth respondent submitted that the service connection has already been provided and that only an additional electrical load is now being sought. The proposal has, however, been objected to by the villagers.
4. Be that as it may, any objection regarding the laying of hightension electricity lines falls within the jurisdiction of the competent authority 3/6
under the Telegraph Act, namely, the District Collector. In view of the same, it is open to the petitioner to raise his objections before the District Collector, who is the authority empowered under the Telegraph Act to consider and decide such issues.
5. Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
