ORDER

The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking to quash the order passed by the second respondent herein dated 16.05.2026, wherein, the request of the petitioner for conducting Adal Padal programme has been rejected on the ground that in the nearby Village, an FIR has been registered due to dispute between two rival groups.

2. A perusal of the impugned order reveals that one month back, due to rivalry in an adjacent Village, an FIR has been registered.

3. According to the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, there is no dispute in the Village and last year, they have conducted the Adal Padal programme in a peaceful manner.

4. In view of the aforesaid facts, the order impugned in the Writ Petition is set aside and the second respondent is directed to grant permission and provide police protection for the Adal Padal programme to be held on 2/4

24.05.2026. It is made clear that the function shall be completed before 10.00 PM on the said date. It is also made clear that the police authorities are entitled to interfere and stop the function, in case they find that obscene dances are being performed.

5. With the above observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
