Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus direct the respondents 1 to 5 to take immediate steps to postpone the celebration of anniversary of Kumbabisekam and Mulaippari festival of Adhiparasakthi Sri Muthumariyamman Temple situated at S.Siruvayal Village, Paramakudi Takuk, Ramanathapuram District, in Government Natham Promboke land comprised in Survey No. 489/1 by one of the Groups under the leadership of respondent no. 6 to 7, and their henchmen, to the exclusion of petitioners groups, till an amicable settlement in arrived at among the entire villagers or to take necessary steps to remove the temple from the Government Promboke land.
