O R D E R
The writ petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondents to grant permission and protection to the petitioner to conduct a prayer meeting to commemorate the death anniversary of late Thiru.G.K.Moopanar from 10.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. on 30.08.2016, near the Mahatma Gandhi Statue, Uchi Pillaiyar Koil, Sarangapani East Street, Kumbakonam, Thanjavur District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 07.08.2016.
2. Mr.D.Muruganandam, learned Additional Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.
3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents. 4.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that every year the death anniversary of late G.K.Moopanar is being commemorated by conducting such meeting; a Division Bench of this Court in W.P.(MD).No.13340 of 2010, vide order dated 26.08.2014, permitted the petitioner to conduct such meeting; last year also based on that order, permission has been granted by the respondents to conduct such meeting; though a representation dated 07.08.2016 has been given seeking permission for this year, the respondents did not consider the same; and hence, the petitioner has come up with this petition. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
5.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, on instructions, gave an undertaking that the respondents would consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 07.08.2016, on merits and in accordance with law.
6.In view of the above undertaking given by the learned Additional Government Pleader, the respondents are directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 07.08.2016, in the light of the order passed in W.P.(MD).No.13340 of 2010, dated 26.08.2014 and pass appropriate orders on merits and as per law immediately, as the function is scheduled to be held on 30.08.2016.
7. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
