2. The petitioner's husband died due to Covid 19. As per G.O.(Ms).No.24 Social Welfare and Women Empowerment [SW.5(1)] Department dated 11.06.2021, a sum of Rs.3 Lakhs has to be paid to the father of the surviving child as immediate relief. The petitioner requested the respondent to make the said payment. Since the said request was not considered, the present writ petition came to be filed.

3. When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Government Pleader submitted that the petitioner got employment as Sweeper in Judicial Department and that therefore, the assistance sought for cannot be granted.

In such matters, the position that obtained on the date of the writ petitioner's husband's death alone is material and subsequent developments cannot be taken into account.
