[Order of the Court was made by D.BHARATHA CHAKRAVARTHY, J.] This writ petition is filed for a mandamus directing the respondents to grant six days emergency leave without escort to the petitioner's husband Navaskhan, who is confined at Central Prison, Palayamkottai.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the respondents should be directed at least to grant one more day permission for the performance of the third day ceremony.

3. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents would submit that upon considering the situation, the petitioner was granted one day leave with escort and he went to the place and performed the last rites and he has now come back to the prison.

4. In view thereof, the prayer to grant leave for one more day cannot be countenanced. Since already the respondents have permitted the petitioner's husband to perform the last rites, no further relief can be granted.

5. Accordingly, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs. [D.B.C., J.] [R.P., J.] 20.05.2026 NCC :
