ORDER
The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking to quash the order passed by the second respondent herein dated 18.05.2026, wherein, the request of the petitioner for granting permission and police protection for conducting Adal Padal programme on 27.05.2026 has been rejected.
2. A perusal of the impugned order reveals that the request of the petitioner has been rejected on the presumption that law and order problem is likely to arise, if any Adal Padal programme is conducted. No concrete material has been placed in the impugned order.
3. In view of the abovesaid facts, the order impugned in the Writ Petition is set aside. The second respondent is directed to grant permission and police protection for Adal Padal programme to be conducted on 27.05.2026 in connection with Vaikasi Thiruvizha in Arulmigu Selva Vinayagar, Ammasaariamman Temple and Arulmigu Kaliamman Temple, North Street, Chellapatti, Thiruvengadam Post and Taluk, Tenkasi District. 2/4
4. It is made clear that the function shall be completed before 10.00 PM on the said date. It is also made clear that the police authorities are entitled to interfere and stop the function, in case, if any obscene dances are being performed.
5. With the above observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
