..Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 24.11.2016 and grant patta in his name to the land situated in S.No.984, Nallamanarkottai Village, Vedasanthur Taluk, Dindigul District within a stipulated time as prescribed by this Hon'ble Court.

O R D E R

The Petitioner has approached this Court seeking a direction to the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 24.11.2016 and grant patta in his name to the land situated in S.No.984, Nallamanarkottai Village, Vedasanthur Taluk, Dindigul District within a time frame.

2.According to the petitioner, he had purchased agricultural land in S.No.984, Nallamanarkottai Village, Vedasanthur Taluk, Dindigul District on 03.10.2016. On 16.11.2016 the petitioner submitted an application before the second respondent for grant of patta in his favour. In response to the application, on 23.11.2016 the second respondent issued patta only in respect of three items of property but not considered his application for the property situated in S.No.984, Nallamanarkottai Village, Vedasanthur Taluk, Dindigul District. In these circumstances, he has submitted an application on 24.11.2016 for grant of patta for the said property. respondent, but no order has been passed. Therefore, the petitioner is before this Court for a writ of Mandamus.

3.Mr.D.Muruganantham, the learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents. He has no objection for issuing a direction as sought for in the writ petition. 4.In the circumstances, in view of the limited prayer sought for in the writ petition, this Writ Petition itself is disposed of by issuing the following directions:

The second respondent is directed to consider the application of the petitioner dated 24.11.2016, and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law in respect of his claim by considering other rival claims in respect of the subject property within a period of a eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.With the above directions, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There is no order as to costs.
