PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 2 to consider the petitioner's representation dated 24.03.2025 and take appropriate action to remove the encroachment made by the against the respondents 3 to 7 in S.No. 148/3 (Vandi Pathai), situated at Arunthavapuram, Papanasam Taluk, Thanajvur District.

[Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.] Mr.M.Sarangan, learned Additional Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondents 1 & 2.

2. In view of limited scope of the relief sought for in this writ petition, notice to the private respondents is dispensed with.

3. With reference to the relief sought for in this writ petition, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 & 2

submitted that the authority concerned will conduct a survey in the subject property, identify the encroachments, if any, and initiate enforcement action to the remove the encroachments.

4. In view of the above submission, the second respondent is directed to conduct a survey in the subject property, identify the encroachments, if any, and thereafter, initiate enforcement actions and remove the encroachments by following the procedures as contemplated under law. It is needless to state that opportunity of hearing is to be granted to the encroachers also. The said exercise is directed to be completed within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above observations, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
