ORDER

The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the second respondent Police to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 16.05.2026 to give police protection for Vaikasi Pongal Thiruvizha on 26.05.2026, 27.05.2026 and 28.05.2026.

2. According to the learned counsel appearing for the second respondent, last year, a peace committee meeting was conducted and thereafter, both the rival groups jointly conducted the festival and therefore, they provided police protection. He further submits that CSR has been registered on 16.05.2026.

3. Considering the abovesaid facts, there shall be a direction to the second respondent to provide police protection to the aforesaid festival, in case, if both the rival groups jointly agree to conduct the aforesaid festival.

4. With the above observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
