The petitioner has submitted a representation dated 15.08.2016 to the second respondent for providing police protection to conduct procession in connection with Vinayagar Chathurthi Festival, which has not yet been considered by the second respondent. Therefore, the petitioner has approached this Court with the aforesaid prayer.

2. Mr.D.Muruganandam, learned Additional Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, the second respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 15.08.2016 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law on or before 05.09.2016.

5.With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of.
