JUDGMENT

[Judgment of the Court was made by R.SUBRAMANIAN, J.] Aggrieved by the order of the Writ Court directing the appellants to rectify the entry in the computer system wherein the land purchased by the respondent/writ petitioner was shown as 'Tharisu', the Government is on appeal.

2. The writ Court has gone by the records which were produced before it as well as the recommendations of the Sub-Collector, Sivakasi, wherein the title of the vendor of the writ petitioner was acknowledged. It is however claimed that the District Revenue Officer, is seized of an enquiry as to the correctness of the claim made by the vendor of the writ petitioner that he is entitled to the land in question based on the revenue patta.

3. We see no reason to entertain the appeal as the direction is only to maintain revenue records as per the recommendations of the Sub-Collector, Sivakasi. In the event the Government finds that there was a mistake or fraud played in obtaining a patta, it is open to the Government to take appropriate action.

4. The writ appeal is dismissed with the above observations. No Costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed. [R.S.M., J.] [L.V.G., J.] 20.08.2024 NCC :Yes/No Index :Yes/No PM To:
