: Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to open Mess for the benefit of the inmates of the Madurai Government Law College Men Hostel in opposite of Mattuthavani Bus Stand, Madurai, within the time stipulated by this Court. O R D E R

*********** [Order of the Court was made by M.M.SUNDRESH, J.] This Writ Petition has been filed by a practising Advocate seeking a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to open Mess for the benefit of the inmates of the Madurai Government Law College Men Hostel, opposite to Mattuthavani Bus Stand, Madurai, within the time stipulated by this Court.

2. In the counter affidavit filed by the fourth respondent, in Paragraph No.6, it is has been stated as follows:- "6. It is submitted that if the inmates of the Men's Hostel are willing to have mess facility in the Hostel in future, the college administration is ready to provide mess facility in the Men's Hostel subject to the condition that the yearly mess expenses have to be borne by the Hostel inmates by dividing system, at the time of every year admission itself, to avoid complication in monthly settlement".

3. In view of the above, we direct the fourth respondent herein to find out from the inmates about the need for a Mess and if the majority of the inmates feel that the Mess is required, needful will have to be done by the fourth respondent.

4. The Writ Petition is disposed of, on the above terms. No costs.
