Respondent PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to change the date of birth as 01.06.1974 instead of 10.12.1968 in petitioner's passport bearing Passport No.E3367068 on 22.04.2003 which was expired on 21.04.2013 and reissue the corrected passport within the time frame as fixed by this Court by considering the petitioner's representation, dated 24.08.2016. Mr.G.R.Swaminathan, learned Assistant Solicitor General of India takes notice on behalf of the respondents.

The learned Assistant Solicitor General of India based on instructions submitted that there will not be any impediment for the respondents to consider the claim of the petitioner for change of date of birth, as the respondent has verified the relevant documents, which support the claim of the petitioner. Therefore, he submitted that his undertaking may be recorded that the respondent would do the needful for correcting the date of birth as sought for by the petitioner without any further loss of time.

3. Recording the above said submission made by the learned Assistant Solicitor General of India, this Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the respondent to consider the claim of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders, within a period of https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No Costs.
