ORDER
The present petition has been filed seeking to quash the impugned order passed by the 3rd respondent herein on 13.05.2026, wherein the request of the petitioner for conducting the Adal Padal Festival on 30.05.2026 was rejected.
2. A perusal of the impugned order reveals that it was rejected on the presumption that a law and order problem is likely to arise due to obscene dances in the program. Since there is no concrete material and the rejection is based only on presumption, the same is liable to be set aside.
3. In view of the above, the impugned order of the third respondent is set aside and the third respondent is directed to grant permission and provide police protection for conducting the Adal Paadal program on 30.05.2026. It is made clear that the function shall be completed before 10.00 PM on the said date. The petitioners are also directed to strictly comply with the circular issued by the Director General of Police, Tamil Nadu/Head of State Police Force, 2/4
