ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to direct the TNPID Court, Madurai to dispose of the case in CC No.11 of 2014 within the time stipulated by this Court.

The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner totally deposited Rs.4,51,400/- in a fixed deposit scheme and recurring deposit scheme and his family members received only a sum of Rs.51,400/- towards interest alone. On the basis of the complaint given by the depositors a case has been registered in Crime No.01 of 2013 and after investigation final report has been filed and the case has been taken cognizance in CC No.11 of 2014. He would further submit that more than 500 persons were examined and the case is pending for a long time, he seeks direction to expedite the trial.

3. The learned Government Advocate(Crl.Side) would submit that the case stands posted to 12.08.2022 for cross examination of LW.533 and there are totally 646 witnesses.

4. It is seen that the case has been registered by the respondent police in Crime No.01 of 2013 under Sections 406 and 420 of IPC. After investigation charge sheet has been filed before the TNPID Court, Madurai against Sun 2/4

Financial Consultancy and others. There are totally 646 witnesses and so far 532 witnesses have been examined and the case is pending from the year 2014 without any progress.

5.In view of the same, there shall be a direction to the TNPID Court, Madurai to dispose of the case in CC No.11 of 2014 within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this criminal original petition stands disposed of.
