Respondents PRAYER : Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to dispose of the petitioner's appeal, dated 21.12.2016 preferred by him as against the order passed by the second respondent in Ref.No.Sattam/SA4/6652/5B/2013, dated 19.02.2014 in imposing the punishment of increment cut for a period of six months with cumulative effects upon the petitioner, within a time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

O R D E R

This Writ petition has been filed by the petitioner for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to dispose of the petitioner's appeal, dated 21.12.2016 preferred by him as against the order passed by the second respondent in Ref.No.Sattam/SA4/6652/5B/2013, dated 19.02.2014 in imposing the punishment of increment cut for a period of six months with cumulative effects upon the petitioner, within the time stipulated by this Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel for T.N.S.T.C., appearing for the respondents.

3. Mr.A.Jeyaram, learned Standing Counsel for T.N.S.T.C., takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the Writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

4. Having regard to the limited scope of the prayer in the Writ petition, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Court is inclined to issue the following order:- "The first respondent is directed to dispose of the petitioner's appeal, dated 21.12.2016 on merits and in accordance with law, after giving sufficient opportunity to the petitioner, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order."
