ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by M.SATHYANARAYANAN,J) The petitioner is the father of the detenu, viz., Joshika, aged about 23 years and according to the petitioner, she is studying second year B.Ed., in Thiyagaraja College and alleging that she has been abducted by the son-in-law of his elder brother viz., Shanmugarajan and kept under the illegal custody and detention, came forward to file this Habeas Corpus Petition.
2. Heard the submissions of the learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.K.Dinesh Babu, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 1 and 2 https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
and on instructions, would submit that on the basis of the complaint given by the petitioner, C.S.R.No.266 of 2019, has been registered and the enquiry is on.
3. The detenu is a major and she is also appears to be educationally qualified and taking into consideration the anxiety exhibited by the petitioner, who is the father of the detenu, this Court directs the second respondent to conduct expeditious enquiry in C.S.R.No.266 of 2019 and if required, may also register the First Information Report against the concerned accused. The second respondent shall periodically inform the petitioner as to the progress being made in the enquiry / investigation.
4. The Habeas Corpus Petition is disposed of, accordingly.
