Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to call for the records of the respondent in proceedings given by the respondent dated 20.03.2017 and quash the same as it is non-application of mind and consequently directing the respondent to grant permission and police protection for the Kabaddi tournament to be held on 16.04.2017 at Pethanadarpatti, Tenkasi Taluk, Tirunelveli District based on the petitioner's application dated 20.03.2017.

ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by A.SELVAM, J.] This writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to call for records relating to the rejection order dated 20.03.2017 passed by the respondent and quash the same and also for giving necessary direction to give permission to conduct Kabaddi programme in the place mentioned therein, by way of issuing a writ of Certiorarified Mandamus. 2.Mr.M.Govindan, learned Special Government Pleader, has taken notice for the respondent.

3.It is seen from the records that a representation has been given to the respondent for getting permission, but the respondent has rejected the same simply on the ground of law and https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

order problem. The reason assigned by the respondent cannot be accepted. Under the said circumstances, this Court is inclined to pass the following order.

4.In fine, this writ petition is allowed in part without costs and the order dated 20.03.2017 passed by the respondent is quashed.

The respondent is directed to consider the representation afresh and pass suitable orders on merits and if there is any law and order problem, the respondent is directed to take appropriate legal action.
