Respondents PRAYER:- Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant appropriate permission and necessary police protection for the initial preparation and kodai festival of Arulmighu Shri Mutharaman Thirukovil situate at Vadalivilai, Kottar Post, Nagercoil, Kanyakumari District on 08.12.2018 to 12.12.2018 and on 21.12.2018 for conducting village meeting by taking into consideration of the representation of the petitioner dated 05.11.2018.

ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking for issuance of writ of mandamus directing the respondents to grant appropriate permission and necessary police protection for the initial preparation and kodai festival of Arulmighu Shri Mutharaman Thirukovil situated at Vadalivilai, Kottar Post, Nagercoil, Kanyakumari District on 08.12.2018 to 12.12.2018 and on 21.12.2018 for conducting village meeting by taking into consideration the representation of the petitioner dated 05.11.2018.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has been conducting annual Koodai festival and

that initial preparation for white washing and putting pandhal has to be commenced from 08.12.2018 and that they have sent a representation to the respondents on 05.11.2018. However, no order have been passed till date on the representation. He would also submit that on earlier occasion, the petitioner has approached this court by filing writ petition in W.P(MD) No.4883 of 2017 and this Court by an order had directed the respondents to consider the representation and dispose of the same within a period of five days.

3. Hence, the third respondent is directed to dispose of the representation of the petitioner within a period of five days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. The Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No cost.
