Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to consider the petitioners quarry application dated 05.05.2015 and grant mining lease for quarrying rough stone jelly and graval.

ORDER

Heard Mr.K.Gokul, learned counsel for the petitioner. Mr.K.Mahesh Raja, learned Government Advocate, takes notice for the respondent.

2.This writ petition has been filed seeking for a direction to consider the petitioner's application for conducting quarrying operation in his own patta land. He has filed an application as early as on 05.05.2015. But no order has been passed by the respondent. Hence, he has approached this Court by way of a writ petition in W.P(MD)No.22916 of 2015 and this Court and by an order dated 21.12.2015, directed the respondent to consider his application within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of the order. Despite the same, the respondent did not pass any orders in his application. Hence, he has come up with this writ petition.

3.In spite of the order passed by this Court on 21.12.2015 in W.P(MD)No.22916 of 2015, the respondent is keeping the matter pending with him without passing any orders. The act of the respondent is highly deprecated. The respondent is directed to dispose of the application of the petitioner dated 05.05.2015, on merit and in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, failing which appropriate contempt proceedings will be initiated against him. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
