RESPONDENT/RESPONDENT Petition praying that in the circumstances stated therein and in the petition filed therewith the High Court will be pleased to suspend the sentence imposed by the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate/Special Judge, Theni in Spl.C No. 5 of 2014 dated 30.08.2018, pending disposal of the main appeal and release the petitioner on bail Order : This petition coming on for orders upon perusing the petition filed in support thereof and upon hearing the arguments of MR.C.ARUL VADIVEL ALIAS SEKAR, Advocate for the petitioner and of MR.K.K.RAMAKRISHNAN, Additional Public Prosecutor on behalf of the Respondent, while admitting the Crl.A., the court made the following order:- It is seen from records that the petitioner was convicted for the offence under Sections 374 (2) Cr.P.C., and under Section 7 and 13(1) (e) of Prevention of Corruption Act and sentenced to undergo 2 years rigorous imprisonment for each offence and to pay a fine of Rs.1,000/- for each offence in default to undergo two months simple imprisonment.
2.The learned counsel for the petitioner brought to the notice of this Court that the fine amount has already been deposited before the Court below and and the Court below has suspended the sentence till 30.09.2018. The petitioner has raised various grounds in the appeal and it will take some more time to take up the criminal appeal for final hearing.

3.In the facts and circumstances of the case, the sentence imposed on the petitioner by the Special Court for trial of Prevention of Corruption Act Cases, Theni, Theni District in Spl.C.No05 of 2014, is hereby suspended, pending disposal of the criminal appeal with the following conditions: (i) the petitioner shall execute a bond for a sum of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) to the satisfaction of the Court below with one surety for a like sum.
