O R D E R

This petition has been filed, seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to pay compensation for the acquired lands in Plot Numbers 4 (123.84 Sq.M.) and 5 (195.05 Sq.M), Matha Nagar, in Survey Nos.182/8 and 182/9, situated at Palanganangudi Village, Thiruverumbur, Trichy District by considering and disposing the petitioner's application dated 30.12.2016 and 04.12.2019 within the stipulated time. 2.Heard the learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mrs.V.P.M.Vaishnavi, learned Government Advocate, who took notice for the respondent. By consent, the Writ Petition is disposed of at the admission stage itself.

3.The learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner had purchased the property in Plot Numbers 4 and 5 measuring to an extent of 123.84 Sq. M. and 195.05 Sq. M. respectively in Survey Nos.182/8 and 182/9 situated at Palanganangudi Village, Thiruverumbur, Trichy District through public auction on 16.05.2008 conducted by the Authorised Officer of Repco Home Finance Ltd. Thereafter, the said land had been acquired for National Highways No.67 (Trichy to Karaikudi). The petitioner had approached the respondent by submitting an application on https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P.(MD) No.16553 of 2020 30.12.2016 seeking compensation. As there was no response from the respondent, the petitioner also had made a representation on 04.12.2019 seeking compensation based on his application dated 30.12.2016. Even thereafter there was no response from the respondent. Hence the petitioner has come forward with the present Writ Petition.

4.Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that it would suffice, if a direction is given to the respondent to dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 04.12.2019 based on his application dated 30.12.2016 at the earliest. 5.In view of the limited scope of the prayer sought for by the petitioner, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, directs the respondent to dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 04.12.2019 based on his application dated 30.12.2016 by passing appropriate orders thereon in accordance with law, after hearing necessary parties, within a period of 120 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, if there is no legal impediment to do so.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
