PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the Respondents to give effect and issue Mini Bus permit bearing Registration No. TN 59 N 0156 on or before 31.05.2026 as per the grant proceedings in R.No.4570/A3/2026 dated 02.03.2026 to ply on the route Vadakarai to Kadayanallur Government Hospital.

O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed seeking writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to give effect and issue Mini Bus permit bearing Registration No.TN 59 N 0156 on or before 31.05.2026 as per the grant proceedings in R.No.4570/A3/2026 dated 02.03.2026 to ply on the route Vadakarai to Kadayanallur Government Hospital.

The case of the petitioner is that he has applied for the Minibus permit for the route Vadakarai to Kadayanallur Government Hospital and he was selected and proceedings were issued on 02.03.2026 with a direction to produce the vehicle and valid records within 90 days failing which the permit would lapse automatically under Rule 181(b) of Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989. The petitioner has produced the

Vehicle bearing Registration No.TN 59 N 0156 and also produced all the relevant records on 11.03.2026. However, the respondents have not issued the permit so far.

3. He would further submit that as per the proceedings dated 02.03.2026, despite he has produced all the requisite certificates, he has not been given permission to run the vehicle and thereby, he has approached this Court seeking for a Mandamus.

The learned counsel for the State of Tamil Nadu appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner was directed to produce all the documents within 90 days and it doesn't say that the permit granted will automatically lapse. She further submits that the petitioner has produced all the certificates only on 11.03.2026, however, without prejudice to the merits of the case, the respondents shall consider the representation of the petitioner dated 11.03.2026 and appropriate order will be passed within a period of three weeks.

In view of the above, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the 1st respondent to consider and pass appropriate orders on the representation of the petitioner dated 11.03.2026 within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
