Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 4 herein to provide adequate police protection during the conduct of the Vaikasi Pongal Thiruvizha at Sri Manickavasagam Temple premises situated at Allalaperi Village, Karipatti Taluk, Virudhunagar District scheduled to be held on 9th June 2017 to 11th June 2017 by considering the petitioner's representation dated 16.03.2017.

ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by A.SELVAM, J.] This writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to direct the respondents 1 to 4 to give adequate police protection on the eve of festival mentioned in the petition, by way of issuing a writ of mandamus. 2.Mr.T.S.Mohammed Mohideen, learned Additional Government Pleader, has taken notice for the respondents 1 to 4. Considering the nature of the relief sought in the writ petition, notice need not be sent to the respondents 5 to 9.

3.It is seen from the records that on 16.03.2017 a representation has been given, but the same has not been considered. Under the said circumstances, this Court is inclined to pass the following order.

4.In fine, this writ petition is allowed in part without costs and the fourth respondent is directed to look into the representation dated 16.03.2017 and dispose of the same within a period of two days. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
