ORDER
The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 26.04.2026 for the offences punishable under Section 304(2) of BNS, 2023, in Crime No.224 of 2026, on the file of the respondent Police, 1/4
seeks bail.
2.The case of the prosecution is that on 19.04.2026 during night hours, when the defacto complainant was coming near Kalugumalai Akilandeswari Temple, the petitioner and the other accused persons snatched her chain. Hence, the complaint.
3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is an innocent and he is no way connected with the alleged offences. Hence, he prays to grant of bail to the petitioner.
4.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent Police would submit that the property is yet to be recovered and the co-accused are yet to be secured. Hence, he strongly opposed the grant of bail to the petitioner.
5. Considering the above facts and circumstances and also the fact that the property is yet to be recovered and the co-accused are yet to be secured, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. 2/4
Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
