ORDER

This writ petition is filed to quash the Impugned File Closure Letter passed by the respondent vide his Proceedings in Passport Application No.TR1066891600124 dated 09.04.2025 and direct the respondent to reopen the petitioner's Passport Application and issue a Passport to him within the stipulated time.

2. Mr.S.Mariappan, learned Central Government Standing Counsel, takes notice for the respondent.

3. This writ petition is disposed of at the time of admission. Admittedly, the petitioner has been issued with a show cause notice dated 01.10.2024 bearing Letter Ref.No.SCN/319637983/24, to which the petitioner has not replied. Therefore, the respondent closed his application. Since the petitioner has failed to reply the same, there cannot be any positive direction to the respondent to issue a passport at this stage.

4. Under these circumstances, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the petitioner to respond to the aforesaid show cause notice within a period of 30 days from the date of receipt of a copy of 2/4

this order. The respondent shall pass the final order within a period of 30 days thereafter.

5. With the above directions, this writ petition stands dismissed. No costs.
