Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to take suitable action in accordance with the representation dated 20.07.2016 given by the village people of Vilankattur, Velarenthal Post, Kalaiyarkoil Taluk, Sivagangai District, seeking to take appropriate action against the illegal act of taking sand from the Nattarkal River in S.Nos.184, 185 and 187 of Silukkapatti Group, Sivagangai District within the time as stipulated by this Court.

ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by A.SELVAM, J.] This writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to direct the respondents to take suitable action against illegal act of taking sand from Nattarkal River in Survey Nos.184, 185 and 187 of Silukkapatti Group, Sivagangai District, by way of issuing a writ of mandamus. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

2.Mr.M.Govindan, learned Special Government Pleader, has taken notice for the respondents.

3.It is seen from the records that on 20.07.2016 a representation has been given to the respondents, but the same has not been considered. Under the said circumstances, this Court is inclined to pass the following order.

4.In fine, this writ petition is allowed in part without costs and the first respondent is directed to look into the representation dated 20.07.2016 and dispose of the same within a period of one month.
