Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd respondent herein to grant permission and to provide Police protection to conduct the "Aadalum Paadalum" dance programme on 05.09.2016 from 08.00 p.m. to 12.00 p.m. in pursuant to the temple festival of Arulmighu Sree Atcham Theertha Vinayagar Thirukovil, situated at Pillaimar Street, Athirampattinam, Pattukkottai Taluk, Thanjavur District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 26.08.2016. The writ petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to give permission and protection to the petitioner to conduct Aadal Padal programme on 05.09.2016 Arulmighu Sree Atcham Theertha Vinayagar Thirukovil, Pillaimar Street, Athirampattinam, Pattukkottai Taluk, Thanjavur District, by considering his representation dated 26.08.2016. 2.Mr.D.Muruganandam, learned Additional Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.
4.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the programme is being conducted by the villagers regularly in order to promote harmony during the above said festival period; a representation was given to the respondents for permitting him to conduct the programme on 06.09.2016, but the same has been wrongly mentioned in this petition as 05.09.2016; however, the same was not considered by the respondents so far and hence, the petitioner is before this Court with this writ petition. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would further submit that as the aforesaid festival is celebrated in a peaceful manner by the villagers, there will be no untoward incident on account of this celebration.
5.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, on instructions, gave an undertaking that the second respondent would consider the representation of the petitioner dated 26.08.2016 seeking permission for conducting the programme on 06.09.2016.
6.In view of the above undertaking given by the learned Additional Government Pleader, the second respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 26.08.2016 and pass appropriate orders on merits and as per law immediately, as the function is scheduled to be held on 06.09.2016.
7. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
