Respondents PRAYER : Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 and 2 to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 19.08.2016 and 12.01.2017 seeking request transfer and consequently to grant a direction directing the respondents 1 and 2 to pass an order of transfer, transferring the petitioner from the Government Medical College, Sivagangai district to any of the vacancies in Kanyakumari District, especially in Government Medical College, Asaripallam at Kanyakumari District within a specific time as stipulated by this Court.

O R D E R

This Writ petition has been filed by the petitioner for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 and 2 to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 19.08.2016 and 12.02.2017 seeking request transfer and consequently to grant a direction directing the respondents 1 and 2 to pass an order of transfer, transferring the petitioner from the Government Medical College, Sivagangai district to any of the vacancies in Kanyakumari District, especially in Government Medical College, Asaripallam at Kanyakumari District within a specific time as stipulated by this Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.

3. Mr.J.Gunaseelan Muthaiah, learned Government Advocate, takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the Writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

4. Having regard to the limited scope of the prayer in the Writ petition, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's case, this Court is inclined to issue the following direction:- "The respondents 1 and 2 are directed to consider the representations of the petitioner, dated 19.08.2016 and 12.01.2017 seeking request transfer, and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order."
