O R D E R
[Order of the Court was made by A.D.JAGADISH CHANDIRA, J.] This writ petition has been filed for a direction to the 2nd respondent to grant ordinary leave to the petitioner's father namely Abdul Raheem S/o.Mathar Mydeen (PID No.18015) for the period of 28 days without escort by considering my representation dated 18.05.2026.
2. Heard the learned counsel on either side.
3. The petitioner is the son of the life convict. The convict is undergoing life imprisonment at Central Prison, Palayamkottai. It is the case of the petitioner that his brother is affected with Schizophernia and since his mental health is deteriorating, for taking medical treatment for his brother, a representation dated 18.05.2026 was made to the respondents seeking 28 days ordinary leave to the convict prisoner. However, since the
said representation was not considered by the respondents, the petitioner is before this Court.
4. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and considering the fact that the convict has already undergone sentence for more than four years, the 2nd respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 18.05.2026 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. This Writ Petition (Criminal) is disposed of with the above direction.
