For Petitioner : Mr.R.J.Karthick For Respondents : Mr.T.Amjad Khan, Government Advocate
O R D E R
By consent of both parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
2. Heard Mr.R.J.Karthik, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.T.Amjad Khan, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.
3. This Writ Petition has been filed seeking direction to the respondents to provide employment to the petitioner under the compassionate ground due to death of his father Late N.Balagurusamy.
4. Mr.R.J.Karthik, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has filed an application seeking compassionate appointment in view of the death of his father N.Balagurusamy on 27.09.2005 while in harness. He further submitted that so far the petitioner's application has not 2/5
been considered. He further submitted that as per the requirements made in the communication of the respondents, the petitioner had produced the Integrated Certificate and still his petition is pending without orders.
5. Since the petitioner's father died on 27.09.2005 and the application has already been submitted in time, it is unfortunate that the application is kept pending for such long years. Keeping the compassionate appointment petition pending without decision for several years will defeat the very purpose of the compassionate appointment scheme. The file appears to have had seen movement only in the year 2020.
6. In view of the same, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the fifth respondent to consider the application submitted by the petitioner on 06.11.2006 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
