PRAYER: Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of mandamus, directing the first respondent i.e., the Revenue Divisional Officer, Melur who is stationed at Othakadai to pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's appeal dated 03.01.2017 regarding the transfer of registry of the land measuring 2400 sq.ft of house site in Survey No.7/2A1A of Ilandhaikulam Village, Madurai East Taluk, within a specified time frame.

This Writ Petition is filed for issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to pass appropriate orders on the appeal preferred by the petitioner dated 03.01.2017.
2. The only grievance of the petitioner is that against the order passed by the second respondent dated 23.12.2016, he has filed an appeal dated 03.01.2017 before the first respondent. Since, there is no progress in the appeal, he has filed the present Writ Petition.

3. Heard Mr.S.Visvalingam, learned counsel appeared for the petitioner and Mr.A.Muthukaruppan, learned Additional Government Pleader appeared for the respondents and carefully perused the materials placed on record.
4. The learned Additional Government Pleader would submit that the second respondent has already issued summons to the respective parties on 03.03.2017 and he is ready to dispose of the appeal within a reasonable time.
5. Considering the above submission, the writ petition is disposed of with the direction to the first respondent to pass orders on the appeal of the petitioner, dated 03.01.2017 on merits and in accordance with law, after providing an opportunity to the necessary parties as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
