Respondents Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st respondent, on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 26.07.2016 to complete the proceedings under Section 205 of the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994 as against the President by conducting the special inspection and auditing the accounts in his K.Pettai Village Panchayat, Kulithalai Taluk, Karur District and further made enquiry with the village people about the irregularities and misappropriations committed by the president and take necessary action against the President, within a time frame.

ORDER

The petitioner has come to this Court, seeking mandamus, directing the first respondent/District Collector, Karur District, to complete the proceedings, pending against the President of the Village under Section 205 of the Tamil Nadu Panchayat Act, 1994, by conducting a special inspection and auditing in K.Pettai Village Panchayat.

2.When the matter was taken up for hearing, Mr.M.Rajarajan, learned Government Advocate, appearing for the respondents 1 to 3, after taking instructions, submitted that the second respondent/Tahsildar, Kulithalai Taluk, Karur District has already issued notice to hold a meeting on 07.09.2016. 3.

Since the Tahsildar of Kulithalai Taluk, Karur District has already initiated the proceedings to hold a meeting to find out the views of the elected ward members, this court is not able to find any merit in this writ petition. Therefore, the writ petition is dismissed. No costs.
