Respondent PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the respondent to dispose of the pending appeal in Na.Ka.A4/715/2015, dated 16.06.2015, as expeditiously as possible.

ORDER

The Writ Petition is filed, seeking a direction to the respondent to dispose of the appeal in Na.Ka.A4/715/2015, dated 16.06.2015, pending on his file, as expeditiously as possible.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that he purchased the property situated in T.S.No.8618/2 in Pudukottai under a registered sale deed vide document No.1197/1983. Subsequently, he acquired knowledge that patta was issued in the names of third parties. Therefore, the petitioner submitted an application before the respondent, seeking cancellation of patta, issued in the names of third parties. The same has not been disposed of, even after a lapse of ten years. Hence, the petitioner has come before this Court.

3. When the matter is taken up for hearing, learned Government Advocate, appearing for the respondent, would submit that the proceedings referred to in the writ petition, namely, Na.Ka.A4/715/2015, dated 16.06.2015, are pending on the file of Revenue Divisional Officer, Pudukottai, and the date of hearing is fixed as 10.07.2025. It is also stated that notice has been issued to the petitioner and other interested parties, namely, Philomena and Jennifer.

4. Recording the statement made by the learned Government Advocate, Revenue Divisional Officer, Pudukottai, is directed to complete the enquiry and pass final orders on its own merits within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

5. Registry is directed to forward a copy of this order to Revenue Divisional Officer, Pudukottai.
