PRAYER : Contempt Petition filed under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971, to punish the contemnor / respondent for the deliberate and willful disobedience of the order dated 20.09.2023 passed by this Court in W.P.(MD).No.16884 of 2023.

ORDER

The Contempt Petition has been filed for non-compliance of the order passed in W.P.(MD).No.16884 of 2023, dated 20.09.2023.

2. When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent Police on instructions submitted that the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Tirunelveli Range, issued an order of suspension against the concerned delinquent Police Officer through proceedings dated 19.07.2023 and subsequently, a charge memo has also been issued under Rule 3(b). He further submitted that an Enquiry Officer was appointed and on completion of enquiry, the enquiry report has also been submitted. Hence, what remains is to get an explanation from the delinquent Police Officer on the enquiry report and pass final orders. He further submitted that the final orders will be passed in the disciplinary proceedings as expeditiously as possible. He further submitted that the non-traceable certificate that was issued by the concerned Police official was also cancelled.

3. Recording the above, the Contempt Petition stands closed. .
