ORDER : The Court made the following order :- The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offence punishable under Sections 316(2), 318(4) and 61(2) of BNS, 2023 in Crime No.Not Known of 2026, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Counsel for State of Tamil Nadu appearing for the respondent police, on instructions, submitted that based on the complaint given by one Raveenraj, current paper is pending for enquiry against the petitioner.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the respondent police is harassing the petitioner under the guise of enquiry.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and taking note of the submissions made on either side, the following directions are issued:- "(a) The respondent will issue written 2/5

summons to the petitioner for causing his appearance before him for enquiry. There is no question of orally summoning the parties to the police station.

(b) The respondent will conclude the enquiry within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

(c) If at the end of the enquiry, cognizable offence is made out and the respondent proposes to register any FIR, the petitioner will be given notice of the same so that the petitioner will have breathing time to move the concerned Court for the relief of anticipatory bail."

5. With the above directions, this criminal original petition is disposed of.
