O R D E R

The petitioner has given a representation dated 02.03.2017 to the respondent police asking them not to permit one Pappathi and others from worshipping in Madurai Veeran Swamy Temple and thereafter, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition with the aforesaid prayer.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents.

3. Today, Mr.R.Arunachalam, Special Sub Inspector of Police, Sivagangai Taluk Police Station is present before this Court.

4. In the considered opinion of this Court, in the absence of any statutory duty cast upon the respondents, the mandamus as prayed for by the petitioner cannot be granted.
