ORDER
This contempt petition has been filed alleging violation of the order passed by this Court in WP(MD).No.30462 of 2024 dated 17.12.2024 wherein this Court has directed payment of interest for the belated disbursement of terminal benefits.
2.The Transport Corporation had filed an affidavit dated 18.08.2025 wherein Paragraph No.6 of the said affidavit is extracted as follows: "6.I humbly submit the daily revenue collected is not enough to meet out day to day requirement. The respondent corporation being a service oriented organization to transport common man to various villages needs to ply the vehicle all villages irrespective of profit. On an average we are paying almost 75% of our revenue to fuel (HSD) a basic need to ply the vehicle. Therefore, we are making efforts to get the Financial Assistance from the Government to settle the employees.
In the circumstances, the Transport Corporation is being received several court orders from the Hon'ble Court relating to the payment of interest towards belated payment of terminal benefit to the workmen in every month, which is a huge financial commitment to our corporation. However, the respondent is having highest regards before this Hon'ble Court to comply the order. Hence, in order to comply the order of Hon'ble Court, the 1st respondent taken efforts to settle payment in 5 installments. Thereby, the following interest amount already settled to the petitioner.
