ORDER

Heard Mr.J.Mathesh, learned counsel, takes notice for the petitioner and Mr.M.Jeyakumar, learned Additional Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondent.

2.By consent of both the parties, the main Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal.

3.The petitioner is working as a watchman in the Government Kallar Boys School Hostel, Vagurani, Madurai District. He was involved in a criminal case. He was arrested. Therefore, he was suspended from his service by order dated 27.06.2016. Now, more than twenty months have elapsed, the criminal case has not been progressed. It is seen that the criminal case has nothing to do with the discharge of official duties by the petitioner. Therefore, no purpose will be served by continuing to keep the petitioner under suspension.

4.This court therefore directs the respondent to revoke the order of suspension and reinstate the petitioner in the service forthwith.
